The world’s largest solar power plant in the United States has a price tag of $7.5 billion, but the solar energy it generates could save American families thousands of dollars per year, according to a new report from the nonpartisan Energy Information Administration.
That’s because solar panels in the U.S. power over 60 percent of all electric power generation.
That makes the solar panel industry a big contributor to the country’s economic growth, said the report’s lead author, Andrew Rosenberg.
Solar panels cost about $20 to install, which translates into a huge amount of money, and they’re available for free or at a small price, according the report.
The average residential solar system costs about $50 per watt.
This report found that solar power was used by an estimated $7 billion in 2014.
The report notes that the U
