Solar energy broker Solar Energy Corp. plans to add another 100 jobs in Arizona, Arizona Gov.
Doug Ducey announced Thursday.
The announcement comes as solar energy producers have seen surging demand in the state, driven in part by the solar industry’s expansion in Arizona.
Ducey also announced plans to build more solar energy stations in the Phoenix area.
Duceys administration has been working to diversify Arizona, a state with more than 7,000 solar energy projects.
Solar Energy Corp., headquartered in Mesa, Arizona, has more than 5,000 full-time employees.
The company has been adding jobs in the metro Phoenix area since March of last year, and recently announced plans for additional job growth in the region.
In addition to adding new positions, Solar Energy also plans to hire 20 additional full- and part-time engineers, said Doug Kretzmann, Solar’s CEO and president.
The Solar Energy broker is part of Solar City, the nation’s largest solar leasing company, which has over 5,400 employees across nine states.
The company is in the process of adding another 100 employees.
Solar City announced last month it would begin accepting orders for solar energy leasing in California, Oregon and Washington, as well as Hawaii.
